I’ve had an issue with Avast deleting autohotkey files before. But it now it seems to be invisibly deleting them. I just downloaded and edited one for a particular game. However, this morning the AHK file is gone, while the associated non-AHK files in the same directory are still there. When I check notifications, there’s nothing there. However, when I check Quarantine, there it is. Surely Avast should not be invisibly deleting files?
I have an .ahk file in my startup folder ( https://youtu.be/vPatV99Yo3g)
It’s run each time the system starts. It’s never been removed.
When I first installed AutoHotkey, Avast balked and initially put that file into quaranteen.
Once it completed it’s analysis, I was able to install AutoHotkey without problems and have
never had a problem with the .ahk file created as explained in the video.
If the file is in quarantine, it’s considered a danger to your system.
I suggest you submit it to Avast for analysis and get to the bottom of the problem.
