Avast is a fraud

Avast is a fraud. They charged me despite not having an active subscription. After multiple attempts to fill out forms on their website, I finally received an email stating that there was a problem canceling my subscription. To resolve the issue more quickly, they suggested contacting them by phone. However, since my country is not on their list (and it isn’t), they redirected me back to the same forms, through which nothing can be done.

I’ve been trying to receive a refund for almost 2 months now. I’ve sent numerous emails and made at least 2 phone calls. Supposedly, my refund will be “processed” May 19, based on my last call threatening to contact the North Carolina Attorney General’s office. Stay tuned …

I was told by Kristyna via email, that my refund would be processed May 19 and it could take up to 35 days to show up on my credit card. She also said she’d follow up with me on May 19. She didn’t, so I called on May 20 only to find out my case number had been closed. I’ve filed a consumer complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office. I’m done being lied to by these people. If everyone who’s subscribed to Avast has unresolved problems with them, I’d advise them to do the same.

I finally contacted Avast on Messenger, and they responded. The subscription they charged me for wasn’t visible on my account due to an error in the email (supposedly). It has now been assigned and scheduled for a refund. I need to wait 5-7 business days for the refund to be processed and appear in my Avast account. Today marks day 5—let’s see what happens next."
