Avast is blocking malwarebytes anti-malware download

I’m working on my dad’s laptop and trying to clean out the malware, viruses, etc. He hasn’t had any significant anti-anything on it ever. I’ve installed Avast and it has been having a ball blocking potential threats. However, I am now trying to download malwarebytes software and Avast is blocking it saying it is a potential threat. I need to get this on his machine so how do I go about having Avast allow the download?

disable the shields till reboot, right click on the task bar icon then avast shield control,

once disabled, download the file, then reboot the computer.

A safer way is to download this file on another system and transfer over.

You’ll need this program to prevent usb infections: http://www.mcshield.net/

Good idea to install this program on all systems you use.

Hi,
I am able to download the installer without any problem. Can you post a printscreen of Avast detection, please?

Sorry for delays. I have been ill and just now able to get back to the computer. I am attempting to download the malwarebytes onto the flash drive and install onto my dad’s computer. I’m not sure if I can do a screen shot of the avast message as I am using my computer to search for solutions but I will try to get a shot of the message.

Where are you downloading Malwarebytes from ??? it downloads fine for me, try this link https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

I upgraded my MBAM to its latest version without problems last night. Sometimes malware blocks security programs, and do not allow them to be downloaded or installed.
