Avast is blocking mozilla.org, claiming the connection is not secure.

Dear Avast forum,

lately Avast is blocking mozilla.org, claiming the connection is not secure.

BUT ONLY if I visit this domain with a the firefox browser.

This effects updates for the browser as well as as updates for potential plugins.

This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to addons.mozilla.org, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

If I deactivate Avast → Settings → Web Protection → Check Secure Connections

All warnings in Firefox disappear and I can update firefox.

This does not happen in Chrome or Safari.

Is there any way to fix this without completely disabling SSL Checks?

Regards,

pepebe

P.S. I’m running the latest version of Avast Mac Security 2015 on OSX Yosemite.

P.S. Don’t get me wrong, but put your captcha out of its missery and use something else. There are a lot of better alternatives out there.
