I an using Windows 7 with Thunderbird. When I forward a message which contains embedded graphics the outgoing message is marked “Image removed by sender. This email is free of viruses and malware because avast! Antivirus is active.”
I do NOT want the images removed and, again, I do NOT have Avast loaded in this computer! This is beyond strange. What the heck is going on??
The first pic shows in alphabetical order the programs loaded on computer (no avast) – the second pic shows the top of the message to be forwarded (with graphics) – the third pic shows the top of the sent message (no graphics) and the fourth pic shows the bottom of the sent message (note the added note from avast!)
I have gone to the Start button looking for the Avast program – as well as searching the C: drive for a file/folder containing the string “avast” – nothing. I have also checked the signature input in Thunderbird – again nothing. The problem is on my wife’s computer which uses XP (sorry, force of habit). The fact remains, when I forward a message with embedded pics they are removed and an line is inserted which states that Avast has removed pics. This is driving me nuts. Any help appriciated.
Also the Avast verification strings are really difficult to read!!!
