Avast keeps blocking website (malware)

Seems to be the same website mentioned here:
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=151833.0

MBAW doesn’t seem to find anything, I attached the report.
I also did a scan with OTL as described in the stickied post and attached those files, too.

Please tell me if you need anything else.

Thanks for your help so far, it’s really appreciated!
I’ll get back to you if I still get the messages. Will have to wait a bit, they appeared every 15-30 minutes, I guess.

What I did:

a) applied your fix, attached the log file OTL produced after the reboot.
b) did a quick scan with OTL (attached file OTL2.txt)
c) ran adwcleaner, log file attached

/edit
Just got another message, so it doesn’t seem to be fixed!

OK bigger hammer time… These appear to be new adware type infections

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Okay, done. I attached the ComboFix log.

I’ll get back to you in regards to further messages and/or problems.

One hour later, no further alerts at this time. I also rebooted, started some programs. No problems so far.

Anything else I should do now? Anything else important in my log file?
I’m a bit worried now, as I’m really careful and this is the first time something like this happened (as far as I know, of course) in the last years. The culprit (at least that’s my guess) seems to have a been an installer (Avast didn’t recognise it as a threat), which I only started (aborted it after I saw that it wanted to install serveral other programs along with the thing I wanted and made it difficult to unclick all the other cr*p).

I believe it is now dead but use as normal and if no further alerts let me know and I will remove my tools and tidy up

So:

a) no further alerts
b) malwarebytes anti-malware doesn’t find anything
c) quick scan with avast shows nothing
d) in-depth scan with avast showed something on an old drive; hadn’t scanned that one specifically probably for a long time. the three files were created years ago and not touched since then (win32:spyware-gen; win32:malware-gen). I’m actually not too worried about it, but you tell me. the same scan showed nothing on my system drive.

anything else i should do?

As far as I can see from the logs you are now clear. The file was running from one of the more obscure temporary folders , which CF cleans quite nicely.

If you are happy I will remove my tools

Yeah, let’s do it

In that case methinks I will send you on your merry way

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:
