Avast keeps switching off, blue screen, and malware galore help!

Hi, Ive been using Avast for years with no problems but over the last couple of weeks some strange stuff has started to happen

My Avast kept switching itself off so I would have to go into it and press on fix now, I did a scan and came up empty so thought it was just a glitch

The other day we were watching a film on the laptop and had it connected to the tv via a HDMI cable and suddenly it went dead, I tred to turn it back on but it just kept clicking back off, when it finally came on there was just a blue screen and it said something like fatal error in the top left corner then went dead again…anyway eventually it came on and launched windows startup repair and came on. After this I did a virus scan and there were 20 odd virus all of which I moved to the virus chest

Since then though it keeps saying that there are too many 16bit systems running and when I switch the computer on Avast is not on

I googled it and found this site and followed the instructions given to another lady with a similar prob, I downloaded Malwarebytes and scanned with that and that found a further 20 viruses which have all been quarantined, I then uninstalled avast and reinstalled it again, and used Puren Defrag to do whatever it does lol, after the problem seemed to be solved and I had a day where everything seemed fine

Then this morning when I switched the computer on Avast had completely gone and I had to reinstall from scratch, I scanned and it found 5 viruses, I scanned with Malwarebytes and that found 11 which went in the virus chest, and then I did a boot scan with avast which found a fair few viruses mostly adware and malware which have been put in the chest

It is still turned off everytime I turn the computer on and it sparodically asks me to launch startup repair…please can someone help me I don;t know what to do, I never made a recovery disc (cos I’m an idiot) I have saved all my important files and pictures so just really want to save my laptop as I have no cash with which to buy a new one

I don’t understand why this has happened as I had windows defender for malware and avast for antivirus…Help

Please do not follow the advice above by nsm0220. He is posting the same non-relevent information in all his posts because he is mad at avast.

I suggest that you run a scan with malwarebytes antimalware (MBAM) free version from the link below.

Download it, install it, update it, and then run a full scan. Let it fix what it finds. Please post the resulting log here in this thread.

first run hjt if u can and post a log here. while ur waiting for help here u can Go into ur windows folder and other important folders and look for anything suspicious files. dont delete them as they may be for the system. instead of deleting, if you can. go to www.virustotal.com and scan them to see if there viruses. this may take while. if they are viruses, post the name of the file here. i did this when i waited for replys.

@ PaCKINheAT,

Running MBAM is the first diagnostic tool asked for and we are still waiting for this from the OP.

Hjk is no longer being used if you read the first thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 by our Certified Malware Expert. You will see the steps we take for doing diagnostic workup for malware. Thank you.

I appreciate your input, but for now we need to wait for the MBAM log, then proceed based on the general instructions listed in the above link and/or the knowledge of the Avast Evangelist and the malware we are dealing with. Thank you for your understanding.
