So, every time i start my comp avast wants to reboot, and ive tried everything from deleting the registry thing, to deleting the reboot.txt file, to reinstalling it completely and nothing seems to work, can someone please help me. Im using avast pro v4.7 which should be up 2 date, my operating system is Windows Xp- Sp2 and should be up to date also, please help me, dont know what else to do.
I too am having same problem with Avast.
I am using Avast 4.7.1098 on Win XP SP2
Even if i accept a restart, the same message comes back on. Wanting another restart!
I have reinstalled: uninstall, reboot, install & reboot. Immediately after the problem continued…
Can anyone help us out here?
There must be a bug on the latest version that manifests only in particular occasions.

Any hope of a proper/official fix soon?
I have discovered the issue, at least for me, and it is not an Avast problem at all. I tracked the reboot message to Adobe Acrobat Updater and resolved the issue by turning of the updater using msconfig>startup. If you are uncomfortable with using msconfig, uninstalling and re-installing Adobe worked as well.
Moderators please post this to any additional threads I miss.
I should have been more specific in my reply. My reboot message was generic, ie. it did not specify which program was advising the necessity for a reboot. My apologies to those I sent in the wrong direction.
