Every time I reboot or startup my phone it will lock up or reboot itself. This only occurred after installing avast mobile security. I was able to uninstall AMS and now have no lockups. Too bad as I really like avast. My phone is an HTC Vivid with ICS. I have no problems with Zoner, AVG or Lookout. Only with avast.

AMS does not lock or reboot the device in any case, it doesn’t have the capability to do so. I would need further description (or a screenshot maybe) to further tell what might have happened.

AMS of itself may not reboot or lock up my phone, but when it is installed the phone does lock up or reboot when started. This only occurs with avast installed. No other av does this.

well, it might be other software conflicting with AMS that triggers it. Apart from the Firewall, there is no rooted feature so if AMS itself would be doing something bad (for example memory leak), it shouldn’t get out of the AMS process/user.

I have a feeling that it could be related to Go Launcher. I also have Go Locker but it was disabled when the lock ups happened. The Go apps are the only other thing I can think of.
I completely uninstalled the Go apps. Now my phone will bootup with avast installed. However, when a call comes the phone will black out, freeze and reboot. Not good. I had also noticed that avast spikes cpu usage more than other av’s I’ve tried.
will you please share the information which ICS and which device you have?
My phone is an HTC Vivid (dual core cpu, 1gb ram) from AT&T running ICS 4.0.3
