Avast! Mail Shield with Opera Mail

I have Avast! 5.0.462 with the File Shield, Web Shield, Network Shield and the Mail Shield installed. Earlier I used Mozilla Firefox as my default email client and Avast! checked all the incoming and outgoing mails. But now I have changed my email client to Opera Mail(a preinstalled component in Opera 10.10). Now my question is: Will the Avast! Mail Shield scan the mails transferred or recieved through Opera Mail Client. If yes, then where can I get the evidence that Avast! is scanning the mails?

I use Opera 10.51 mail client. Avast! 5 is scanning my mail.
