Hello. I encountered regular BSOD on my new system (installed just 3 weeks ago). The error codes are: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Could Avast be the reason of that? I also attached minidumps: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx1DCkXg-WI3cmVCQ040VWxhS3c
PC Config:
Windows 7 x64
CPU AMD Athlon X2 3.21 GHz
RAM 6 GB
SSD Transcend 218 Gb
Avast Free 12.3.2280
Any other Security related programs installed ???
How did you remove the last AV ???
If Avast is the only AV installed, try the following:
Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204
If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast: https://goo.gl/4Ptzkf
No, Avast is the only AV on computer.
There was no AV before, I changed my HDD to SSD and installed Avast on “fresh” drive.
I repaired Avast and I will post here if BSOD appears again.
@MrOnline, I looked at your two minidumps and both your system crashes are not related to Avast. Both BSODs occurred when system accessed invalid memory address and from two different system components. I would recommend you test your HW (memory tests, CPU temperature, …) and you may also uninstall Avast to see BSODs will definitely come back.
