Hi just checking does the Mobile Security app for OK with Kindle Fire HD?
Thx
Hi,
the last time I checked (to be honest it was a while ago, but still) it was OK.
Filip
Hi…thx…when I try to download from ‘the market’ within Avast itself, seems to take me to google play? when I click on ‘Avast Free Mobile Security’ to install I get a pop up saying ‘You haven’t accessed the google play store app ( the white shopping bag app) on your device with this email account?’ I do have a GMail account but my outlook.com address is assigned to my Avast Account. You are unable to download the app from the kindle store also?
Appreciate any help
Thx
Do not understand. avast! mobile security is available on Play, you can get it there; in case you are running kindleHD, you have to try another source, like Kindle AppStore and for this you need to have a valid Kindle ID. There are some other sources, like alternative markets, but we can not assure, that you always get the last version there.
Hi its no longer on the ‘Kindle App Store’…Thx anyway
Yes, Kindle removed us because we are using Google framework. You can try to use alternative markets, like Opera and so.
OK Thx will check…
How can I set my Avast PIN? How can I then set my PIN recovery? How can I connect my Kindle to my Avast account?
Hello,
you can configure your avast! PIN in Mobile Security or Anti-Theft. if you are asked for a avast! PIN but u are sure u didn’t set one, try the default 0000
you won’t be able to use the online account since amazon devices are stripped of all google cloud to device messaging services.
but - since you can’t manage to connect to the online account it’s not /that/ bad. In case of emergency - when the phone gets lost - I would recommend using SMS commands anyway. They are much more reliable and work even without internet access.
SMS commands and how to use them are explained in our manual:
http://files.avast.com/files/documentation/mobile-security-user-guide-en.pdf
give it a try - it’s short and easy to understand.

Werner
is the opera source reliable - can we trust the avast download from there?
also - will the avast that we get from the alternative sources actually work for the kindle fire hd?
thanks for a great piece of software.
Hi,
the Opera app store is fine. If it’s gonna work - I think you will be fine with Mobile Security. Anti-Theft might not work though since the Fire HD can’t receive SMS and you can’t connect it to avast! Account since it uses Google Play Services to communicate with the device (and the Fire HD doesn’t have that).

I keep finding this on my search for a solution to my issue… just to say anti theft is useless on the kindle fire unless you can connect to an account as the kindle fire is not a phone therefore cannot send or receive text messages…
As Filip stated, Kindle does no use Google services which is part of antitheft application so you will find it not very useful there. On the other hand, mobile security should works fine (at least it is working on our HD).
