Was muss ich tun?
Danke und Gruß,
I.
A long time ago, I installed “AVAST Mobile Security” on my phone.
Current version of my mobile is Android 6.0.1
It is a Samsung Galaxy A5
AVAST can not be uninstalled via the “Settings / Application Managers”.
AVAST is not listed under “Security / Device Administrators”.
When trying to uninstall via the application manager, the phone switches off after a few minutes and restarts. However, AVAST still exists.
I’m running a custom 6.x android ROM on my Huawei P8 lite ALE-L21 and have been using Avast Mobile Security so far. However, I want to switch to Kaspersky but AMS won’t let me uninstall it. Whenever I check settings->security, AMS is listed as an administrator, but unchecking the box next to it leads to an error message “settings has been stopped”, returning me to the main security settings screen.
Since this seems to be the last hurdle, I hope someone can give me a hint. The Avast FAQ section and the other information on the Internet which I dug up so far were not helpful.
Hi, this issue concerns the permissions - the app must have all permissions needed, or it doesn’t let you disable it in Device Administrators and the system Settings crashes.
Please try to follow these steps (some terms might differ, depending on what device you use):
go to your device Settings
tap on “Apps” (or “Application manager”)
select the “Avast Mobile Security”
tap on “Permissions”
make sure all the permissions are turned ON (allowed)
Once done:
go back to the “Apps” or “Application Manager” (two steps back)
tap the “three-dots” in the upper right corner
select the “Apps that can appear on top”
make sure the “Avast Mobile Security” is turned on
With all this done:
go to your mobile device´s settings
go to “Security”
go to “Device administrators”
uncheck/deactivate the “Avast Mobile Security”
now go back to device´s settings
go to “Apps” or “Application manager” (depends on the Android version)
pick “Avast Mobile Security”
uninstall the app
Now you should not meet any problems with the uninstallation. Please let me know, whether it worked for you.
