Hi all, my avast free isn’t working on my laptop. It says it is unsecured and to click on FIX but then nothing happens. It also says to restart prgram but that doesnt help either. The only thing that has come up that someone might know its meaning is RVP error? I also tried to reinstall the free avast but hasnt helped.
The avast on my desktop computer is running as usual so I have know idea what to do.

This should have been posted in avast/free/pro/suite http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2.0 Can you try a repair via remove programs, if that doesn’t help download a fresh copy of avast and the avast removal tool and save http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html then boot into safe mode and run the removal tool then reboot, note that you should also run the tool for any previous version of avast that you may of used like 4.8.
Once this is done it can be benificial for your system to do a cleanup with ccleaner, download from here if you dont have it http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds (when installing ccleaner make sure to untick the google toolbar) then you can reinstall the copy of avast you downloaded earlyer.
