Avast on access scanner not working

For some time now my avast program has not been able to update for some reason I do not know. I had to do something with the Msconfig to get my Windows One CareLive to update and when I restarted the computer Onecare Live said it had blocked a program that turned out to be Avast. I checked the tab for it to be allowed in the future and then I was able to update Avast. But now it is showing just the single blue icon with a red circle that turns out to have something to do with the chest. How can I get it working again? I am using a HP Pavillion7865 with a 120mb hard drive and 512 ram

I read a post that had a solution to my problem with avastwith the red circle. So I am happy to report that avast icons are now both working .

Glad that you have been able to resolve the problem and found one of the most useful things about the forums (the search function), there is a mass of information on almost every possible issue available to all.

Good morning to you all. I am a newbie here .
My problem is that the on-access scanner message is working too well!

As each file is scanned , I get MULTIPLE on-access scanner messages , which is very annoying at this stage…
How do I hide these pop-ups?

This option ‘Show detailed info on performed action’ is off by default so you may have been tweaking and not knowing the effect, a brows of the avast help file should give more information on settings.

The above example is for the standard shield, web shield and the internet mail providers also have this so you will need to check them also.

The pop-ups have been sorted, thanks to DavidR.

As I am partially- sighted I tend to take short cuts on getting info, rather than ploughing through all the info online.

Thanks for your patience.
