Avast One kills Avast Passwords (old)

Apparently once Avast One is installed, there isn’t any way to reach your password
saved in Avast Passwords (old)
Is there a way around that problem?

Hi Bob, afaik APW isn’t available in A1.

I’m well aware of that.
That wasn’t my question.

I (and tech support) could never get Avast Passwords to work correctly so I lost interest in it very quickly. A password manager that is accessed by subscription only using proprietary software and gives no option to access your data through a website vault gets no support from me.

I use Bitwarden now and always import a backup to KeePass which is encrypted and stored locally.

If you still have a computer with Avast Premium installed you could export a .csv or .json file and then import it into LastPass, KeePass, and/or Bitwarden, etc.

Of course shred the exported file when finished.

Here is instructions on how to export from Avast Passwords and import into Google Chrome. → https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Export-Google-Chrome-Passwords-data/

If you export for use in Chrome it saves it as a .csv file. If you select the Export to File option, it is saved as a .json file.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Charyb,
I’m already using LastPass and Bitwarden but wanted clarification from Avast.
Changing over from the free version of Avast, in this case has a drawback and
I wanted avast to address it.
