I installed Avast One on a Windows 10 computer and have been happy with it. However, today, when I right-clicked a file to “Scan selected items for viruses,” I got an error that Avast was not running. The Avast icon was present on the Taskbar - but as soon as I put my mouse over it, it disappeared. I then opened Avast from the start menu, the icon appeared again, and I was able to scan the file.
My concern is that apparently Avast crashed / stopped running in the background, leaving me vulnerable. Is there any reason this would have happened? Is there any way to make Avast restart automatically, or generate a notification, if it closes?
