I just got this message:
avast online security could not be verified for use in firefox and has been disabled
and it has indeed been disabled with no option to re-enable it. apparently the addon has not been approved by firefox until avast gets it verified. will this happen be happening soon? all the green check marks on my searches are gone and I am concerned about not being protected.
Two things that you don’t mention, this makes it hard for anyone to comment.
What is the firefox version number you are using and what is the avast version that you are using ?
As far as protection goes, the main on-line protection comes from the Web Shield, and not the AS add-on.
I guess the whole thing is moot as I got an update for it this morning that fixed it. YAY!!!
But your point is taken, and I should know better as well, and I will be sure to provide the proper information next time I need to post anything. Also thanks for the info about web shield and AS, that also helped to ease my mind.
