@polonus
Please tell me if I need AOS :
Antiphishing - OpenDNS
Anti-Tracking - uBlock Origin (EasyPrivacy and many other filter lists)
Website Reputation - WOT
Link Checker - VTZilla
Built-in XSS Filter in Pale Moon
Tighten up security through Pale Moon Commander add-on
Some useful security related userscripts
Pure URL add-on
Plugins rarely used and controlled through Plugins Toggler add-on
…and some other things I can’t remember right now.
Edit:
One more thing - enabled built-in Canvas anti-fingerprinting in Pale Moon.
@ abruptum,
You don’t need it. I don’t need it either unless, it happens to catch something on of the others miss.
Layered protection is the best protection. In this case, it’s not really affecting me so why not install it ???
Hi abruptum,
From what you mentioned I agree that you have a solid layered defense strategy,
that could beat that of the average unaware user, so you certainly have learnt to protect yourself.
I have a likewise cocktail, but I have found that the AOS extension finds specific issues others do not flag,
for instance afraid dot org driven sub-domains .
Often such services are complementary. So AOS does not detect some detections DrWeb pre-link checker has or v.v.
via their malicious website lists.
Bitdefender TrafficLight extension/add-on in my opinion also flags a tremendous amount of malicious/suspicious URLs in searchqueries.
As bob3160 says you have such extensions installed for that very rare occasion,
that all other protection just fails you, meaning that onetime rare and violent infectuous destination you wanna avoid. 8)
A file infector or ransomeware infection is not what you wanna come across. :o
