i’m using avast pro antivirus 17.1.2286 (build 17.1.3394.0) on windows 7 64bit. and was wondering if anyone else was having problems with avast online security keeping the settings after you close browser (firefox 51.0.1 32 bit) and reopen the browser.if i enable block all, when i open browser back up it’s disabled and have to re-enable.
This may seem a stupid question but are you clicking save on the Avast online security plugin once you made your changes.
Yeah, same… Not installing into Firefox 64bit, not remembering settings consistently etc
Rejzor, the AOS is (currenly) not installing on Firefox 64bit - should be fixed in March.
thanks for replys and yes i clicked save.other than that everything seems to be running real nice.
Not installing into Firefox 32bit either on this XP Pro system.
Installed on my win 10 computer.
Installing it in avast is only the starting point, you have to confirm/check that it is actually installed in your browser and is actually running as it should in your browser.
It is running like it should.
Sorry, but that is hardly showing it is working.
To test that it is actually working you need to run scans and see the green check marks aside the search results. You need to see that the AOS icon in the browser isn’t greyed out and that site ratings are actually shown.
Whilst a new regular program update has been released, that isn’t meant to be any different to the closing beta version. So I don’t know if that has changed in any way as I removed it in the beta as a waste of effort trying to fix it.
Does this show that it’s working?
Yes, that is the business end of what AOS is meant to do.
After the update on my Win 7 x64 system, the Firefox 32 bit AOS extension is greyed-out and not working at all.
The Google Chrome extension that I use for Opera is working fine.
Greetz, Red.
I found the solution to my problem with avast online security in another thread from bob3160 which was The settings in AOS on Firefox are saved via cookies. Cleaning those cookies also wipes out your AOS settings in FF.I found the cookie and excluded it from being cleaned by ccleaner and it worked for me.Many thanks bob3160.
My pleasure. Glad to help. (I also learned it from someone. )
