avast! Outlook plug-in seems to produce permanent sound

Hi there,

I’m using avast! Home Edition 4.7.817 German.

After rebooting the computer, avast! Home Edition installs its Outlook plug-in, and it seems to me that this plug-in produces a permanent sound in the form: da-ding, da-dong (sorry but I cannot express it better).

Please can anyone tell me what’s going wrong in this case or which setting turns off this permanent sound.

  1. Why do you think it’s the avast Outlook plugin?
  2. Do the sounds only happen if Outlook is running?
  3. Do the sounds only happen if the avast Outlook provider is active?

Hi Vlk,

after I went to bed (and my computer apparently slept well too) and turned on my computer in the morning, the described situation did NOT occur anymore.

I’m sorry for the incommodity.

So please remove this thread, if possible, to avoid confusion for others.
