Is anyone else getting issues with the Avast moving into more and more areas automatically?
The latest with trying to force Yahoo or Bing search engines on the end user is getting annoying.
Who is giving a “bad reputation” to some of the tool bars they want to remove? Or are the just getting kickbacks from Yahoo and Bing for forcing them on users and the “bad reputation” is just a smoke screen.
Years ago CA did the same thing with their AV product and tried to make it all things to all people without leaving it up to the end users to choose which protection items and what level of protection was required to the degree that a very large group of us left them and moved to Avast. I’m hoping Avast will not go that route but will realize they need to leave all the new incursions into other areas turned off and offer the user the choice of turning them on. Once an Anti Virus tool becomes overly bloated it looses its worth and one may as well move to a simpler “just plain antivirus” software to recover the processor power.
