I was wondering when will Avast release their passwords extension for the Microsoft Edge browser?
Microsoft have release their ‘Microsoft Edge Extension Toolkit’ software for developers, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to bring it to the Edge browser. This is one of the things I need to fully move to Edge.
Actually it is difficult, due to our communication base we are not able easily convert chrome extension for edge one using the toolkit provided by MS. MS also blocks edge extension communication to localhost where avast holding passwords is running. They (MS) said that with Spring update it should be possible but we have tried with no awail. We will keep an eye on edge stuff and once it will technically possible without no hassle for our users we will bring Edge extension to life, but as of now, we can’t do it due to limitations not laying on our side.
Hey Martin Kvetko, thank you so much for replying back to my question, as your answer is very clear why Avast isn’t able to bring the extensions to Edge. I just hope that Microsoft makes it easier for developers to bring extensions to their Edge browser in the near future.
