Avast! & Perfect keylogger 1.6.2

Why Avast 4 Home dasn’t detect Perfect keylogger 1.6.2 ? Dr Web and AntiVir detects troyan.Peflog.31, Troyan.Downloader.2605 and BackDoor.SrvLite in this installation.

I suggest you put the file in a password-protected .zip and send it to virus@avast.com Don’t forget to include the password and the description you gave above. Help avast! become better

I’m sure this has been discussed recently, try a search of these forums for Perfect keylogger will no doubt return some hits.

Have you installed the Perfect keylogger monitoring program?

Some people have Perfect keylogger installed to monitor their kids activity, etc. and it was being picked up by some AVs (avast also until recent update) as a trojan when in fact it was a false positive.

Sorry for the off-topic, but does anybody knows ‘safe’ keyloggers to do this and monitors the computer when I’m not near to it?
A lot of them are ‘infected’ or, at least, are shown as infected by avast

Sorry I don’t know. Have you try google search engine? :-\

I’ve tried in the past but the problem is the safety of it. I want users´opinions 8)

No I’m not need keylogger, and more - it is very danger and impossible thing on my computer.
I anderstand, that some people use PK as spy for somebody. But I think, AV must to say me - this program contains dangher files and than I’ll be think, what to do. May be need to insert special option in AVAST! (ON or OFF spyware detection) In Kaspersky AV it depends by different Bases. You can switch to download advanced Base with all spyware, or only viruses. NOD32 have special switches, detect spy/riskware or not. I hope, you will make something like that. I really likes AVAST and I want, that it will be better.

but did you have it installed as I asked “Have you installed the Perfect keylogger monitoring program?” if you did and you don’t need it any more you should uninstall it.

I’m not sure how avast detects it, but there are many keylogging trojans so it is quite possible to confuse what it is doing (legitimately) for trojan keylogger activity.

You can exclude the file that is being picked as infected from being scanned if you still want to have the program installed on your system.
