Avast Premier Blocked Access to Blockchain.info

Hi,
This is my first post.
I was using Blockchain.info for buying bitcoins and as a wallet. Recently, Avast Premier blocked my access to Blockchain.info/wallet saying that it could harm my computer and the URL is Mal. But I see at my top left browser, it is mentioned Connection Secure and in green colour lock. Should I continue? It’s false alarm? If it is a false alarm which I believe so, why now?
I cannot access to Blockchain.info

Hi,
thanks for your response.
So, disabling the https feature is your solution? Doesn’t that leave the website vulnerable to attack?

temporary solution until the bug is fixed

Doesn't that leave the website vulnerable to attack?
ehm, no not the website ... your browser maybe ;)

Just because it says there is a https connection doesn’t make the site secure.
There is a huge misunderstanding about that.
It only means the data between your browser and the site is encrypted, nothing more nothing less.

Personally I don’t even know if this is a workaround (or not) given that you are getting an alert/warning, rather than just not being able to connect. The suggestion to disable https was/is commonly related to XP and Vista users that are having issues connecting (not warnings) to some https sites.

But in your case were an avast warning has been given, first you get the warning as in your image one, subsequent connections in a short time frame, would just be blocked and not have the warning displayed for every connection attempt, as in your image two.

As the FAQ article warns it could leave your system more vulnerable, even if only disabling the https scanning temporarily. It may also not help if the domain blockchain.info happens to be in the blocked domains list.

I think that you need to report it as a possible false positive detection on that domain and have it analysed. Unfortunately I don’t have the link to that link on this computer.

EDIT: OK found it, https://www.avast.com/report-a-url.php.

There was a false positive on “blockchain.info/wallet”, I have removed the detection, it should be okay in a couple of minutes. Thanks for reporting it ;)!

I have just visited the blockchain.info site and it is now available, hopefully you should now be able to access your wallet.

I didn’t disable https features as I wanted to wait for a day or 2 to see if there is any updates for this…

Looks like the Avast team solves this as I am able to access now. That’s great.

My sincere thanks to Pondus, Eddy, DavidR, HonzaZ for taking valuable time to write here and for support. Thanks a lot. God Bless

You’re welcome.
