Avast Premier Firewall appears to be blocking all downloads

Hi,

I switched on the above and was looking forwards to a hassle free life, however within minutes Avast decided (i think) to block all downloads via Outlook Mail App on Windows 10, in addition it appeared to be blocking other software such as CCleaner and other “safe” apps that i use.

I have tried to reset to factory defaults, but the issues remain, i have also tried turning off the Firewall and Mail Shield but still no joy :frowning:

Is there a fix that can be made without uninstalling Avast?

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Other security softwares: none other than windows 10 defaults and i used the free version of Avast previously

  1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
