Avast Premier Trial Problems

Downloaded Avast Premier Trial. Initial download and scan OK (clear) but after restarting system could not access Avast.
Tried to uninstall- cannot - tried PC program uninstall and Avast Clear but nothing will remove.
Would much appreciate advice how to remove this program please.

If avastclear not help you, then restore your system from backup and use old version untli this new version will be bug free.

I am not very PC savy sorry… can you help by clarifying restore system… how to do it.
Thanks

So you have no backup, then no help here, but avastclear should work anytime because it work in safemode. Anyway you can fomat your hardrive and make clan installaton of Windows. But this is only the last and most time consuming solution.

OK thanks for taking the time.

Did you remove any other av completely before installing avast ?
If not see > http://www.ache.nl

And there is ofcourse always the option to manually remove avast :

  • Remove all folders/files from avast
  • Remove all registry keys from avast

Had 360 internet security free loaded previously but did proper uninstall and restart. Now able to access internet but unable to download anything or open files already downloaded with exception of images.
Not very IT savvy so laptop gone for reformat. Fortunately not used much so no real problem losing everything.
I have Kaspersky IS on my PC and probably add it to laptop when back. I think too many postings regarding problems with Avast IS.
Thanks to all for suggestions and help.

So you had Kaspersky and also installed Avast ??? Not a good move.

Sorry, not making myself clear… Kaspersky was on my desktop PC - not the laptop which is causing the problem. Laptop was properly cleared of antivirus software when Avast trial downloaded.

I think too many postings regarding problems with Avast IS.
Don't let that mislead you. There are +/- 200 million people that are using avast. If 75 people post here that they have problems, it might look a lot, but is in fact a really very small percentage. You (almost) never see the people that don't have problems post here, making it only look like there are a lot. ;)
