Avast Premier won't update

For a long time now my Avast Premier will not update or connect to my account.
I uninstalled it reinstalled it.
Still broke.
I’m disgusted with it.
See some pictures—

As long as I can update the virus definitions at Techspot I will use Premier until my subscription expires.
Then I will uninstall Avast & find something better.
Something that works like it is supposed to work.

  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

64 Bit OS Windows 8.1 Pro
SP ?
No other AVs.
I can’t remember. I’ve used Avast for a long time.
It used to work good.
I have this version—

Would it do me any good to install this version—

  1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

ok.
Working on it.

OK, report back.

I did as you suggested.
It did not help.
I’m glad I had a macrium image to fall back on.

If anyone asks me about Avast I will tell them not to waste their money on such a shoddy product.
Bye-bye. >:(

Follow instructions: https://support.avast.com/article/33/

It seems to be working now.
