Avast Premium heavily slow down my computer

For the last couple of days (maybe after the last Windows 10 update) my computer is heavily slowed down. When I check the task manager and the processes the “Avast Service” is using a lot of CPU and the “Power usage” is “Very High” most of the time during the whole day. My computer is working significantly slow. I haven’t such problem before that.

Avast Premium software is installed.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600
RAM: 32GB
Windows is installed on the NVMe SSD.

Is there anyone with this kind of problem? Is this a known issue? It is very frustrating.

Have you tried a ‘Repair’ of you Avast installation?
You can access this option through the Menu Settings.

It seems that this did the trick. Computer performance went back to normal. I didn’t knew about this “Repair” option. I will continue monitoring the PC performance.
