For the past few days, Facebook has been partially loading videos, and sometimes some photos don’t show up. After checking my browser and resetting it, I concluded that the problem was with Avast Free. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
- Disable HTTPS Inspection (Web Shield → Scan HTTPS)
This feature sometimes interferes with media loading on social networks.
How to disable:
Open Avast Free
Go to Menu → Settings
Click on Protection → Main Protections
Enter Web Shield Module
Uncheck the option:
“Scan HTTPS connections” or “Scan HTTPS”
Restart your browser and test.
I wouldn’t advice disabling HTTPS just to test if the Web Shield is involved (impacts all other sites), but rather use the Avast Exceptions and add YouTube o the exclusions.
All options doesn’t work for me… i’m thinking on uninstall Avast.
What Avast Program and version are you using ?
I have that exception for YouTube and I have zero problem, so there is something else in the mix.
Are you using a VPN (or Avast Real Site) ?
Doing so could prevent YouTube confirming your identity/validity in connecting to that section of YouTube.
Have you tried unchecking the Enable QUIC/HTTP3 option, see attached image.
