Can someone help me? I had (I think) Home (FREE) and started getting pop ups saying my time was running out. When I went to the pop up it had a big circle that said BUY. Thinking I had to buy to keep getting Avast, I hit buy. Now I paid $39.95 for Pro and think Home would have worked just fine. I thought I had to buy to get a new key. After finally downloading it and getting rid of my old Avast so the new one would load, it is running OK. Now I get another pop up saying my time is getting shorter (odd). I click on it and it says I can get Avast for 30% off ($27.95). This is very upsetting and I am not sure I am at all pleased. I did not know I could keep getting Home for free to use ( not sure If I can) and did not know I just needed a new key (not sure of this either) or how to get one to keep running what I had. Can anything be done to correct this mess I have created (unknowingly). Not too computer literate, ROSCOE
I thank you for the info.
I will see what I can do on that end. Strange about the two differnet prices, but I will see what they can do.
All seemed a bit confusing, but maybe it was just me not understanding.
Thanks again, ROSCOE
You can renew your free registration or you can buy. Like David said, you’re not forced to upgrade.
Hope sales could give you avast for the lowest price
Hey David,
Now I have another problem that has popped up.
I went to Avast (dot) com and could not get in, tried to register and the verify letters at only a square with a red x in it. If I have Avast why am I not regitered? Any other ideas?
Clear your browser cache (temp internet files) and try again.
Why couldn’t you get in, what errors were displayed ?
Exactly where are you trying to register ?
Having avast doesn’t mean you are registered, when you first got avast you registered, you need to re-register to get a Home license key, this is for the updates.
Personally I would hold off on that just for now until you contact and get a response from sales. I would also say if you have already received a Pro license don’t enter that key or it could male getting a reduction or refund harder.
i just ran into what roscoe was refering too, as on my 2nd laptop my demo license was about to expire and i needed a registerd key to continue with the free version.
so i went threw the prompts and it takes you to a page for buying avast, and at the very bottom right hand corner is a small “continue to register” clickable link
so i can see how roscoe was a lil confused and overwhelmed with the page it shows…perhaps aggressive marketing strategies?
when i did the changing of demo to register for free use on my 1st laptop a month ago this page wasnt there. lol
its all good though, I didnt have any problems registering for a new key, having seen this thread before hand i knew what i was looking at
