In my system32 folder i got wind32.exe which Avast doesnt recognize as virus, but my firewall told me that this service is crying to connect with remote computer
Norton recognized it as virus
Hi,
please send the file to
virus (at) avast.com
Best send it in a password-protected ZIP; include problem description & archive-password in the Mailtext.
Thx
you should secure your system & browser better → Read the link “VirusRemoval” below in my sig
A Google-Search indicates that this is most probably a network worm, which shows that you
- don’t have all Windows-Updates
- and/or use weak passwords
- and/or your firewall is not setup correctly…
P.S.:
How does Norton name the virus/worm ?
What avast-version & VPS do you have… ?
Norton calls it a virus, but it isn’t nessecerly so. Many times people mixup the terms. Not everything that is unwanted and wants to connect to the net is a virus. There are viruses, spyware, adware, spyware, trojans, worms and much more. Together they are called malware.
Although anti virus software is able to detect other things than just viruses, they still are primarly av (Anti Virus) software. Therefor it is advised that besides Avast you also have Spybot s&d, Ad-Aware and HijackThis on your system to check and if needed remove malware.
I think it is W32/Forbot-AH
The file is deleted and I can’t send to virus (at)…
Avast VPS file:
14.10.2004.
file version 0442-2
Avast version
4.1.418
(automatic updates)
On-access protection - all providers → high

Be sure to apply all windowsupdates, and change all your passwordss/PINs etc…
Why can’t you sent the file? Did you put it in a password protected zip?
I deleted it with Norton before I saw your post…
That’s a good reason for not sending it ;D ;D ;D
