Avast Pro vs Avast Free

There’s an offer for Free users to upgrade to Pro until, umm, oh, its tomorrow now (31 July). Wanted to ask the following if I were to take up the offer and upgrade:

  • What are the practical advantages over Free
  • Will Pro suck system resources more than Free
  • If I decide not to renew after the year, will Pro revert easily to Free
  • Would renew be full price

Think renew would be the full price. Pro has the Sandbox feature and the SafeZone browser feature plus auto-updates more often :smiley:

Thanks, I reckoned the same on renewal too.

The Sandbox: Free has the Autosandbox feature. I don’t understand the difference between this and whatever the Pro version offers.

Sandbox feature includes all applications, like firefox or IE9 you could run sandboxed to prevent any infection even zero-day malware ;D. Autosandbox isabout sandboxing well-known malwares (in signature definition) :wink:
