Hi!

I would be very greatfull if someone could give me the details about the memory requirements of the different avast providers. Also please tell me about the importance of these providers.

Hi!
Every pc have a different configuration and different parameters. Open the Task Manager (Control+Alt+Canc) and run the program: you’ll see the amount of memory requested by avast! on your system. :slight_smile:

Kalpik, you can search (advanced) the board a little… Use my name and the words NetShield and WebShield to found more about these providers. Or click on FAQ in my signature.
On Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) don’t forget to show the column VIRTUAL MEMORY to see the real values of memory used by the programs. 8)

One more thing, does the webshield block remote installation of spyware and other malware?

Maybe yes, maybe not…
It’s not the first purpose of it and avast! does not have a Registry monitor to avoid this installation.
But, most frequently, yes, avast! will stop the infected process before it could be able to be installed in your system.
