Hi all.
I am a newbie that has registered into this forum.
About the early part of August, 2005 I dowloaded Avast 4 and registered the product. However I do not know whether the fourteen month period has commenced. I registered pretty early.
Please advise whether I am covered for the 14 month period or whether I have to re-register or what.

Right click the ‘a’ blue icon and choose About on the menu.
See the period under ‘Registration key’ section and Updates expiration value.

Do you see a spinning “a” ball below right on your desktop (next to your clock or somewhere near there)? Thats the blue icon. 8)

I found the “A” ball in the system tray. Am I supposed to have a licence key number? If so where di I find it? I also note that Update expiry date is Wednesday November 1 2006. Is that the date on which I have to renew or re-register? and if so, do I re-download Avast or what should I do?
Please advise. I am a computer newbie.

Didn’t you receive an email after you register avast?
In this email you’ll get the number.

Yes, or some days before.
No need to download again, just register, get a new number, go to the About dialog and click on the button ‘Licence key’ and write (or paste) the new number. But, why are you so worried about this… there is a long journey until there. Enjoy avast and the forums. Try to browse and learn something 8)

Look at the picture. You have to click on the Plus sign(+) next to the registration key
in about avast to see this information.
