I was wondering when avast repairs a file that is infected by a virus what happens to the file and what is the difference then just deleting it.
If possible, avast! try to recover the original state of the file (before infection) using the VRDB stored information.
If the infected file is a must have one (like a system file), you can’t just delete it… you can have troubles on making your system work. So, reparing is much more than deleting.
Sometimes repair is not possible, so delete (and try to restore a clean version of the file from a backup for instance) is an alternative 8)
ok thanks.
