Avast RPC errors in X64

Running windows XP X64 SP2 with all updates. All has been well with Avast Home, now, it’s dead.

I can’t get the repair to clear the error, nor does removing / reinstalling work. If anyone has an idea to help, let me know. Also, I can host some screen shots of the errors if you would like.

Again, this is a 64 bit OS.

Did you have any other antivirus in this machine in the past?

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first (try again, if you can). Boot.
  2. Failing or not, use Avast Uninstall for complete uninstallation. Boot.
  3. Install again the last version.
