Avast Sandbox issues! Blue Screen!

Hi,

When i run my internet browser ( firefox/chrome) in sandbox mode and when i click expert settings to edit the settings or just open the process virtualization tab, i get the blue screen of death. ( I’m using windows 7 ultimate, 64x edition).

Also after yesterdays firefox update, now it wont open in sandbox mode, i get this error

error:platform version ‘1.9.2.12’ is not compatible with
minVersion >= 1.9.2.11
maxVersion <=1.9.2.11

Can someone help me fix this ? I also want to know what happens to the files i download when i open the browser in sandbox mode. is there any way to access them? i want to know where they get saved.

i downloaded a torrent file while running the browser in sandbox mode, when i opened it, it opened the torrent client also in sandbox mode, and it started downloading it, when it was done i couldnt find the file. ??? ( i didnt notice that the torrent client was also running in sandbox mode) is there any way to access the files ?

Avast sandbox is a really good feature but it needs to be more stable IMO, because i got the blue screen like 10 times now. and the red strip around the browser gets messed up when i resize the browser, it takes some time to get back to the proper size. [ just a suggestion ]

oh and i forgot to ask one last question about Avast, Why should we use a special removal tool to remove avast IS 5 ? ( i was told that we have to run it in safe mode etc) Won’t the normal uninstallation work ?

The removal tool removes the leftovers that the normal Uninstaller leaves behind.

Hi DraKuL :slight_smile:

I have send an email to the developer of the sandbox with a link to this topic.

Greetz, Red.

Thanks Red :slight_smile:

This was posted over 1 year ago, but sadly, I see the bug has still not been fixed.
I’m on a brand new PC, and this is the second blue screen I get because of the Avast sandbox. So I just disabled it.

My specs are similar to those of the original poster: i7, Windows 7 SP1 x64.
