Hi - suddenly last week Avast Premium said my computer was connected to and scanned a new network, that appeared to be the name of my real network but with a “2” at the end. This only happened to my computer and not the others in our home. Thinking I had been hacked, I finally wiped my computer (except for the files) and set up a new name and password for my network and went thru the painful task of reloading all the apps and setup from scratch. As of yesterday, everything was ok. This morning the same bogus network was connected and scanned. My network on my computer shows my legitimate one and does not show the bogus one in the available network list. I need help to find a way to get rid of the bogus one PLEASE!
TIA Linda
It seems there is a bug that causes Network inspector repeatedly showing its scan results. I saw similar numbering on network names on Windows itself, and I think there is no need to worry about.
I had that same issue for years. Sometimes it would show up to 4 networks. With the last install I didn’t include the Network Inspector … Problem is gone !!
I have had the problem for the past couple of months where Network Inspector reports my network as “untrusted”. In the “List of Visited Networks”, I find multiple occurrences of my network with an increasing number added to the end.
My home network has a problem where my wireless modem loses internet connection several times a day. I assumed that the multiple occurrences of my network was the result of my wireless modem restarting, with some change in addressing that Avast does not recognise.
I am hoping that fixing my home network problem will also correct the duplicate occurrences of my network within Avast.
