Avast SBS Suite - Workstation protection???

??? HI i have recently purchased the sbs suite and i understood that the price we paid was also to protect 15 clients??? we purchased through the online shop yesterday the SBS suite for our server. We have loaded the license into the Avast on the server and all is well there but now how do we protect the workstations? There was not much explanation for this or documentation that came with the purchase, please advise ASAP….!!!

I am in exactly the same “boat”. :cry: I am looking for a simple step by step to the solution you metioned above. I have looked all over for instructions on the above problem and was very surprized to find very little support documentated anywhere!! I will be watching to see if anyone else has this problem ???

The Suite license covers the workstations (so you purchased the right thing).

The usual procedure is to use the ADNM and push the installation of the netclients (the network versions of avast Professional Edition) remotely from the ADNM console.

also if you choose to install the Avast Client individually on each machine
you’ll find a valid key to use inside your “license.dat” file.
just open it with any text editor, like NOTEPAD, but make sure not to change that file

Thanks for the info, I will try ADNM on the first server this coming weekend, before I start installing to the other servers and let you know how it goes.

Is the “netclient” version of the avast anti-virus software mentioned above the same as the “professional” version and can either or be used with the license key supplied in the license.dat file.

The “professional” and “netclient” versions are almost identical, but:

  • professional is not manageable using ADNM, uses a simple license key
  • netclient is manageable using ADNM, uses license.dat file (through ADNM)
