For some time now I’ve noticed an issue when running a Full Virus Scan or a Custom Scan, especially scans that take a long time to complete.
If I leave the scan running, after a while the Details section stops displaying information. When I go back to the Scan section it shows that the scan is still running (or even 100% complete), but when I open the details there is nothing displayed.
The problem is that at that point I can’t see what the scan found, and I also can’t stop the scan or take any actions. I’ve tried leaving it for several hours, but nothing changes.
For example, right now I have a custom scan called “TODO” that appears to be finished (100%), but the details panel is empty and I’ve been waiting for around 3 hours with no update.
The only way to stop it seems to be restarting the computer, but I don’t think that should be the normal way to handle this. Antivirus software should be a robust platform with minimal bugs. Situations like this make it difficult to trust that everything is working correctly.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?
