Avast scans on every download

I’ve been using and enjoying Avast for a long time. Recently whenever downloading a file Avast will pop-up, scan memory and wait for further input. I don’t believe I’ve changed any settings to cause this. TIA

Are you using a download manager?
Which application did you set to be the antivirus scanner into the download manager application?

I don’t have a ‘Download Manager’ but your question led me in the right direction. I have the Firefox ‘Download Statusbar’ extension installed. Disabling it resolves the problem. Thanks again.

I have the Firefox Download Statusbar installed as well and it works just fine for me using the avast scanner to check the downloads.

What program did you have set up to perform and antivirus scan? Sounds to me like you specified the wrong program.

The extension is setup to use ‘ashAvast.exe’ to scan.

ahhhhh… I see alan. Changed it to ashQuick.exe. Works fine.
