For the past two (2) months, every time I open a new tab using Avast Secure Browser, I get the following prompt, “Update your browser settings…Some settings could be adjusted for better security and performance. We can update it for you with one click: Search by → Bing.”
If I wanted Bing as my search engine, I would have chosen it long ago. This is Avast harrassing its users. I pay ~$120 per year for Avast Internet Security, and I’m ending my subscription because of this persistent nuisance that Avast has been fully aware of since 5 November 2024.
How do I (and many others) make this message go away forever?
