Avast SecureLine VPN for Firefox/Chrome

Avast SecureLine VPN for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/avast-secureline-vpn/

The Avast SecureLine VPN Web Extension is a simple browser application that allows you to control your SecureLine VPN easier and faster from your browser toolbar. One click, and you can turn your VPN on or off, or change where you’re connecting from to give you a perfectly seamless privacy experience.

Please note that this is not a stand-alone VPN product. It requires Avast SecureLine VPN to be installed on your PC or Mac, which must be activated with a valid license. But once you get that going, then it’ll be good to go.

Strange, Secureline is running but the extension is asking ne to install it ???

Nice addition to the Browser.
Very convenient.
No issues, I added the extension on one machine while Secureline (beta version 5.4.468) was Off, then used the extension to turn the VPN On

EDIT: Confirm Bob’s issue with non beta version 5.3.458 on machine HP Compaq saying to install Secureline
Guess the Browser extension only works with the 5.4 beta version of Secureline

Kind of strange to roll out an extension that only works with the beta version unless,
that beta is about to become the full release.

Don’t know. :-\

Hi guys, new stable version (5.4.510) has been released. Cheers

No way to update from within the program ???
Only way to update seems to download the latest version from here: https://www.avast.com/secureline-vpn#pc
and install it over the existing version.

Hi Bob, you should get auto-updated sooner or later (staged release).

Hi guys, the Avast SecureLine VPN Web Extension has been updated to V1.0.721

Hi Asyn
How/where can we see what version of the extension we have?
There doesn’t seem to be version listed in Release notes under Add ons

Go here:

Now scroll all the way down to see the version.

Thanks Bob

Just mentioning, the icon for Browser extension shows ‘Green’ when connected, while the taskbar icon shows ‘Orange’ when connected. ???

Hi guys, now also available via ASL settings.

Can you be more specific as to where to find this setting? Thanks.

ASL GUI → Menu → Settings
Note, you need ASL V5.4.511 or higher.

To me, this App seems a bit redundant. I control it via the actual app.
Since it protects on a network level, why would you need browser integration?

Well, I like it. It’s quite handy and comes with integrated WebRTC blocker. 8)

Hi guys, the tool has been updated to V1.0.726 and is out of beta now.

+1
