Avast seems to be blocking Cisco AnyConnect VPN

Any idea how to enable Cisco AnyConnect VPN to work on my computer when Avast is running?

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Avast Premier Security. 19.7.2388 (build 19.7.4674.520) Windows 10 64bit.
It used to be working early this year on Free Avast, before I payd for Premier.

Set the Avast Firewall to private mode and reboot.

Both my networks were set as Private already, that does not help much. But there is slight improvement - Cisco Client does not report VPN unavailable and keeps open. I can log in and VPN seems to be ok, but the websites on company intranet (Atlassian Jira/Confluence) I try to reach are still unavailable…

Does it work when Avast Firewall is off…?
If so, try the Geek Area settings, mentioned here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?msg=1505540

Firewall off does not help. Advanced geek options also dont help. Only after I uninstalled Avast I was able to connect to company web through Cisco VPN.

See if it helps to disable Real Site in Avast.

Turning off Real site and restarting finaly helped me. Big thanks for quick responses !

You’re welcome.

I had same question, it works when free trial but failed after paid for premium security version. I have tried to turn off real site but didn’t work. My corporate VPN device is F5 Networks, any idea to fix it?

more details are following,

  • Which Avast…? (Premier)
  • Which version…?(20.1.2397 build 20.1.5069.562)
  • OS…? (64 Bit.)
  • Other security related software installed…? (none)
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…? (free trial Avast)

my corporate VPN error message is “Your system is failed to meet the AntiVirus requirement. You need to have AntiVirus software installed and enabled with the latest AV definition.”

I much appreciate your comments!

Hi, update Avast VPS and try again.
