Avast slows down Ecwid widgets in IE9

Hello,

We have recently discovered that Avast antivirus significantly slows down the web pages containing Ecwid widgets in IE9. Ecwid provides e-commerce widgets (cloud service) for building online stores.

This probably means that Avast suspects some malicious content transferred from either app.ecwid.com or Amazon (Ecwid uses AWS for hosting stores’ data and scripts). If so, it is apparently false positive.

It doesn’t completely blocks the loading though. I am not sure, what is going on in the background as Avast doesn’t provide any report or log records on the matter. However, with the help of IE9 developer tools I discovered that the processing of some JS files becomes a way longer when Avast is enabled. Maybe, it takes so long for Avast to analyse the code in those files.

Could you please check it? Here is the details.

System: Windows 7 , IE9, Avast 7 Free

The issue is reproduced on every site where Ecwid widgets are placed. The easiest way to reproduce the issue and make sure no external files affects it is to check it on our demo store:
Simple version (only widgets): http://mdemo.ecwid.com/simple-store

How to reproduce.
Open the demo store in IE9 with disabled Avast scanners - it loads quite fast.
Enable Avast scanners.
Open the demo store in IE9 again - it loads way longer (about 10 seconds longer).

We’d like to ask you to address the issue as soon as possible, as it may affect many of our clients (more than 200,000 merchants currently use our service). Thank you in advance.

Still waiting for response from Avast team. Guys, the issue affects many people. Please give it high priority so it can be fixed shortly. If any further details are needed, please let me know.

It’s been more than two months already since we discovered this problem, and until now - no response on the matter from Avast team, not even a tiny hint that you’re working on it. This problem adversely affects many of Ecwid store users who’re using your solution. This is absolutely not acceptable. You’re leaving us with only one solution: Though reluctantly, but to recommend our clients to withdraw using Avast.

We do hope you can handle this case at the highest priority.
