Hello everybody! I’m new to this forum, but I’ve been using Avast 4 for almost 2 years, and now i wish to go up-to-date with new developments. I’ve installed the new Avast 5 and I’d like to say that it’s GREAT, it has very good and intuitive interface, and new shields of protection! Excellent job Alwil team! Of course i’ve run into some troubles, but all troubles were with my software installed on PC.
I have some questions refering to Avast Antivirus. So i know that you (developers) keep updating Avast 4.8, after releasing Avast 5; and i would like to know if Avast 5 finds more threats than Avast 4? Did the users who bought professional version of Avast 4.8 receive the update to Avast 5 free of charge, or they have to pay the full price?
And now i’ve come to the closely to the summary of my posting here: when i was using Avast 4.8 it was updating almost every day and it told me that the virus definitions were successfully updated with the pleasant male voice! I had the Russian version of Avast 4.8 and the voice was Russian too, it was a pleasant surprise for me when i’ve installed Avast 4.8. But in Avast 5 (Russian version) there are no voices at all only sounds, i was very surprised when i switched Avast 5 to English to hear pleasant woman’s voice telling me that the definitions were updated! It’s very sad for me that there is no voice in russian version at all! Would you place some voice-sounds in the next updates?
And I would like to offer You (developers) some help with the translation of these phrases and damn i could even sound them! I’m Russian as you have already noticed, sorry for my bad language! If you are interested you can find my e-mail in that account profile! Please contact me!

Although I am not an avast Developer, I can answer some of your questions ;). Yes, avast 5 has better detection as it has a newly improved Virus/Spyware Detection engine. The users who have bought avast 4.8 Professional can upgrade to avast 5 Pro for free, see this. Your current remaining license period will be maintained. They have to pay to upgrade to the Internet Security package though. (includes firewall + antispam features)
And this is great! I enjoy the company politics! And again i receive evidence that i’m using the best antivirus program 
I also want to add that russian text localization is great but sounds are missing 
Unfortunately, there aren’t any voiceover sounds for the russian locale…I vaguely remember this from another thread.
Whether there will be in the future I am not sure.

I’m sorry for postin’ duplicating thread, but I thought i could help Avast team to improve their product It’s not so difficult they could send me the phrases which need to be translated and spelled and i could spell 'em into professional microphone, edit, and send them back just for free, or maybe for Avast Pro version
