Avast support deteriorating

I have had a ticket in now for three days with no response - for paid subscribers to something as important as anti virus software, this is unacceptably long. I could not continue working with a partially crippled system and so have for now uninstalled avast and switched to the standard windows tools. I would expect medium level tickets to be answered within 24 hours and those marked urgent or critical, within a few hours at most. I am increasingly concerned both with this and the number of issues I seem to have following every product upgrade using Windows 8 Pro.
