Recently I bought Avast Internet Security (I’m using a beta version on Windows 8.1 Pro Preview).
Everything works good, but I also bought avast! SecureLine - 1 PC, 1 Month and I’m not satisfied with this service and I contacted Avast via e-mail at sales@avast.com on 3 October 2013 and now is 7 October 2013 and I received no response.
Also, I started a support ticket at 04 October 2013 with number #AQO-752-83003 and the same, no response.
Now, I tried to contact Avast via chat on the official website, but nothing, no reply.
I really do not exist for you? It’s just a question, do not jump on me.
I had another antivirus from a company from my country (Romania), but I had no problems with the contact.
I sit and think, if I’ll have security issues and I will contact Avast, when I’ll receive a response? When my dad’s car will fly.
Considering this, I want to cancel the antivirus license and get money back for it. I refer to everything. The two services purchased.
Effectively, I get back to the old antivirus from my country, because here I get the answers 24/7.
Why? The fact that I have not received a reply scared me and I lost confidence in Avast and that if in the future I will have a problem I’ll not get any response from Avast and everyone will give the illusion that he died.
I ask you to be serious to not complicate things - DOT!
Out of curiosity, what av is it that you had (from Romania)? (Bitdefender?)
So you waited 3 days. Don’t forget 2 of those days where in the weekend. Just have patience, they will respond.
Why are you not satisfied with the SecureLine? Do you have a problem with it? If so, tell us here and I (or someone else) will try to help you solve it.
I sit and think, if I'll have security issues and I will contact Avast, when I'll receive a response? When my dad's car will fly.
Yes, you will get a response. I don't know if it will be before your dad's car can fly. I don't know what car he has ;)
If you have a security problem, just state the problem/ask your question in the appropriate forum on this webboard and you will get help a.s.a.p.
Hello Eddy! Maybe I’m to sad because I am taught to get a quick response.
I can stick to get my money back just for SecureLine, maybe not for all (antivirus).
When I used SecureLine I had problems with some websites from my country and
I was banned and I hardly made a deal with those people to delete my BAN. In addition speed internet works very hard.
Maybe this service is not right for me. But since I do not use SecureLine, I do not want to lose my money, right?
By the way, I know Avast since I was a little kid, so, it would be a pity to argue.
Well, me too like to get a fast response. But keep in mind that it is not always possible. e.g. I am responding to you right now, but it could well have been that I had to go out for whatever reason and I would not return till tomorrow.
Just out of curiosity and for learning:
I don’t know about the problems you had with the websites, but could it have been a setting or something?
And for the speed, did you use a bandwidth monitor to check?
I know Avast since I was a little kid
Hmm, let's say that when I was a "little kid" avast didn't even excist. Could be because there where not even 286 systems ;D
Eddy, thanks for your fast response.
Some websites have a security system, if you login from other countries, the security system believes that someone hacks your account.
It blocks the user account for 24 or 48 hours, during this time disappeared I search assistance by email at webmaster and he responds only after three days.
My internet speed is at 10 MB, but with SecureLine speed drops to 1 MB or less.
How about the past and Avast history? I know Avast for a long time. I had a computer since the age of 8 years. Now I have over 20 years.
lol - I stretched a big discussion here from a small thing …
I almost forgot the other issue that I have.
I do not blame Avast but when I installed Avast, after 4-5 days, Windows Media Player ( I listen the my music with this app ).
So, Windows Media Player has some interruptions to the music like short circuits When I surf the Internet on a website and give the scholl in down or other operations. This is very frustrating and bother me. I installed the oldest antivirus and everything seems to function normally, but of course, after reinstalling Windows 8, otherwise it remains the same. It’s seems to be a virus that is not detected by Avast and would lay in my computer, bat I don’t want to give bad verdicts.
But I have two PCs: a laptop with Windows XP and here I installed Avast, unfortunately Trial, but nothing happened on laptop with Windows Media Player. Why?
It’s a strange mystery. So, I will give some technical details:
Antivirus: Avast Internet Security, not PRO.
PC specs: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz - 2GB RAM - Video Card: GTX 220 and others.
Here’s the video proof: http://youtu.be/vDMa5kky-qg
Sometimes interruptions are too larger.
I have not had the patience to catch a moment when there was a break of sound more than a second.
Well, 2Gb is really not enough to run W8 decently. So there is already a problem.
And if you only want to listen, I suggest to use VLC. It uses less resources than Media Player.
Today we’re in 9 Oct, so from 3 October to 9 October are 5 days without free days, only business days.
I think any company that respect their customers would have responded more quickly. How much should I wait?
I’ll wait another day and if I’ll not receive a reply, I’ll begin to storm through Avast servers.
For example, how wonderful it would be to fill this forum with some spam?
Hurry up, or I’ll lose my patience and the sanity and I’ll not respond to what is going to happen,
even if it comes to court my actions, I will prove that I was provoked to do these things.
Avast promised me the following: 30-day Money-back Guarantee.
It’s really so difficult to get my money back?
By the way, I uninstalled Avast antivirus and then I reinstalled the OS
My old antivirus (Of course I renewed license for 1 year, so there’s no turning back) and now everything works perfectly.
So if you promised 30-day Money-back Guarantee, keep your promise!
I contacted PayPal to make a complaint that Avast not respected 30-day Money-back Guarantee.
Also, I contacted a lawyer. He advised me to wait 30 days and then I’m legal to make a storm, because only after 30 days I’m legal under the law.
I will also contact the internet complaints department and I’ll made a request to European consumer rights.
I will keep you informed about updates!
I forgot to mention that they read my ticket support messages.
DEPARTMENT: [ Private ] - OWNER: Ondřej Šesták - TYPE: Communication - STATUS: Open - PRIORITY: High
This happens from October 5, but on 08 October 2013 I started to write a new ticket with a new title end Ondřej Šesták viewed my message end he has joined my tickets together in a one.
He read my messages but he did not answer. What does this mean?
I expect to receive a general answer to calm me down. For example:
Hello customer,
Our Return Avast products/services department is not currently available, but we assure you that your issue will be resolved.
[ OR ]
Hello customer,
We have received your request and we will try to solve the problem - it may take several days.
[ OR ]
Hello customer,
I'm the receptionist from Avast and I want to inform you that Avast team is went down in the bunker to work for the new version of Avast antivirus, so we will try to solve the problem - it may take several days.
[ OR ]
Hello customer,
I'm the receptionist from Avast and I want to inform you that Avast team is left to Beer festival, but when they will revert back, we will solve your problem.
I am really sorry to hear that nobody has replied your ticket yet.
I think, though, it has a simply explanation. We usually reply the tickets in order of arrival, older to newer.
If you keep writing new messages into your ticket without waiting for an answer, your ticket will always be between the “newest” tickets, thus we will skip it to go into “older” tickets.
I’ll ask Ondřej tomorrow to have a look at it, or perhaps I can read it and reply you
same problem, they never respond; as soon as my year is over i am switching to McAffee; I have it on another computer great customer support via phone 24/7. just have to get the word out there for those who get frustrated by avast.
There is no any ticket sent by you in our system. Anyway, this thread is quite old so I’ll close it. If you need help, please open your own thread and/or send a ticket through https://support.avast.com
