avast system tray icon missing

so, I noticed my avast system tray icon was missing, and I went and checked to make sure it was enabled in avast(thank you windows 10 start menu).

it is enabled.

I checked taskbar settings…and the toggle to enable its appearance or have it hide, is missing.

…did one of the more recent updates to avast break its system tray icon?

Have you looked in “Show hidden icons” using the up-arrow icon at right of the tray?

that was my first move actually…and nada.

Try a repair of Avast. See if after the reboot things are back to normal.
